I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years since I have done a post on my favorite lipsticks! The last one covered my favorite Fall lipsticks of 2016 and it was quite a different time in my life. I was wrapping up my last semester in college and took my lipstick shots in front of a very unreliable foam board that I propped up on my tiny twin XL dorm bed.
Now, I at least have a blank wall in front of a window with good lighting to take pictures in front of! I’m also living in Florida where these summer lipsticks tend to stay close by all year round.
I find myself always grabbing these because they are super versatile and comfortable. When the humidity is high and the sun is bright, the last thing I want is an uncomfortable lipstick! So, here they are: my favorite summer lipsticks of 2018!
A nude gloss is a total must-have during the summer! It’s perfect for adding a touch of shine to your beach or pool look. This one from Fenty Beauty has proven to be the best by a lot of people who have tried it. It’s a universal peachy shade that looks great against any skin tone and it has a long-lasting, comfortable wear.
Every summer lipstick wardrobe needs a pink, am I right?! I’m usually pretty picky about the pink shades I wear. A lot of them look too harsh or chalky against my tan skin. I really like this one because it has a tint of mauve in it which I think makes it work for me. This is the second KVD lipstick I’ve tried and I have been very pleased with them both. They are practically bulletproof!
I also have trouble finding the perfect nude! They’re either too brown or too light, but this one from Tarte is perfect. Its creamy-matte formula is also super comfortable to wear. When I don’t know which lipstick to pick, I very often go with this one because it never fails. I am also obsessed with the beautiful blue packaging it comes in!
This isn’t technically a lipstick but boy, has it come in handy! This has become my favorite lip balm to wear alone or as a base for lipstick. I love it because it doesn’t have an overbearing taste or scent and it actually stays on for a long time. It gives the lips a nice, hydrated shine, which I love.
I saved the best for last! I never thought I would actually fall in love with an orange lipstick but this one has stolen my heart. It works because it’s not super orange but rather a muted down shade which makes it way more wearable.
