I think of February as a time of transition between the frigidness of January and the blossoming of March. It’s kind of an awkward month stuck between two phases of the year and a lot of times, this is when people experience their “winter blues.” But I’m here to cure that… with a little makeup!
These 5 February makeup looks are meant to brighten up your look and challenge you to try some new things. Red eyeliner, anyone? (Don’t knock it ’til you try it, okay?!) And hopefully, it will bring some fun into what can be quite a monotonous month.
As always, I have kept these makeup looks simple and open to interpretation. I keep the base makeup the same and try to keep everything at a somewhat-beginner level to allow anyone to be able to take them on themselves.
So whether you’ll be going out on a hot date this week with your Valentine, chilling with your Galentines, or just in need of some new makeup looks, I’ve got 5 ideas for you!
Here is what I used for the base makeup:
Simple Face & A Bold Lip
The eyes: Nothing other than lots of my Lash Paradise mascara!
This is actually one of my favorite everyday looks. I love to let a bold lipstick have its moment by pairing it with toned-down face makeup. I think it’s a great look for lipstick lovers who love to make a statement too!
Magenta is one of my favorite lipstick shades to wear; I consider it to be the sassy version of red lipstick. 😉
Golden Eyes & A Soft Pink Lip
The eyes: Milani Everyday Eyes Matte Eyeshadow Collection in “Bare Necessities”; I used the gold shade
This one is a softer look with a kick of sparkle. I used a wet, flat brush to pat on the gold eyeshadow and make it look as metallic as possible. Then, I dabbed just a bit of the lip color on my lips for a subtle flush. It’s romantic, feminine, and oh so easy to do.
The eyes: L’Oreal Color Riche La Palette Nude 2; I used shades 6 and 10 in the crease and 9 on the lid and lower lash line
Monotone looks are all the rage right now and I am totally on board. It is a bit of a daring look, but it’s so much fun to put together!
This eye look only consisted of two colors: a brown shade in the crease and a pure mauve shade on the lid and lower lash line. It’s best to keep monotone looks simple and straightforward so the right idea comes through.
Mauve is a great color on just about anybody too. Its purple and pink tones make it stand out, but the overall gray undertone of the color mutes it down, making it great for everyday wear.
Burgundy Liner & A Nude Lip
The lips: Tarte Colorsplash Lipstick in “colada”
Who said red can only be on the lips?! I just can’t resist including one or two daring looks in my makeup posts!
I love the faded burgundy color of the NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in “Vintage”, so I decided to use it as an eyeliner. Why not? I paired the eye look with a nude lip to let it stand out. I surprisingly love the red liner and how it looks against my brown eyes!

Classic Black Liner & A Red Lip
The eyes: NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Liner
Of course, I couldn’t get through a makeup post without including a classic red lip! I finished this classy, romantic look with nothing other than a bold, black winged liner. This look seriously never fails.
Sport one of these looks when you go out with your loved ones or kick it at home and experiment with each one. Go ahead and show yourself a little self-love! But no matter where you find yourself this Valentine’s Day, enjoy it 🙂
